Future of Disney Parks: Whats Coming

Both Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris have room for future expansion.

In July 2009 disney park company was rumored to be talking about making a mega-resort in Dubailand.

In November 2009, Disney received approval from the Chinese government to build a Disneyland resort in the Shanghai. The resort is expected to open in 2014.

Hong Kong Disneyland is under major expansion. The park will receive three new lands; Grizzly Trail, Mystic Point and Toy Story Land. Construction began in late 2009 and will take 5 years to complete. The park will feature a total of seven themed lands after the completion of all the new additions.

Disney has made no announcements regarding plans for another American theme park.

In October 2007, Disney announced plans to build a resort at Ko Olina Resort & Marina in Kapolei, Hawaii, featuring both a hotel and Disney Vacation Club timeshare units. Scheduled to open in 2011, the 800-unit property will join the other resorts not associated with a theme park, such as Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort in South Carolina.

Theme Park Wars

Walt Disney World VS Universal Studio's Island's of Adventure (IOA). On May 28th, 1999 this park opened right down the road from Walt Disney World. IOA wanted to top Disney World, they wanted the latest, most cutting edge technology for their attractions so they could blow the mouse right out of the water.
Oddly, one of the main reasons AK was made was because people wanted to see a mythical land. So why wasn't there? Well, the company wanted to know how Reign of Fire did in theatres, it included fire breathing dragons and la la la. If people liked it, Beastly Kingdom was in....it tanked.
Then they were faced with the IOA problem again. The Imagineers didn't know what to expect from this park. Some, most, secretly wanted for it to do well. Why? Well, then Michael Eisner would think We need to step up our game; something to really wow the guests so we don't lose them to Universal and then the Imagineers could suggest Beastly Kingdom! But IOA didn't exactly do much. It was no where near the Disney standards.
Something happened though....The imagineers whom had worked on BK had left Disney and then worked at IOA. Some took BK ideas with them. So, IOA's 'Dueling Dragons' ride looked awfully familiar..... Dragon Tower attraction that was supposed to go into Beastly Kingdom!
Eisner didn't want to make it look like Disney stole the idea from IOA so he asked the imagineers to take it out of the plans.
Only one giant problem there. The Dragon Tower attraction was going to be the center piece to the Beastly Kingdom, without it, the whole land was pretty much meaningless. So, again Beastly Kingdom isn't planned for. There also seemed to be a part of IOA that was similar to Beastly Kingdom, here's the description from Wikipedia:" This island is themed to ancient myths and legends, and is divided into two smaller sections. The first section is ancient Arabian marketplace called "Sinbad's Bazzaar", while the second is mythological Greecian-Atlantis-style "Lost City". Formerly, the Lost Continent included a medieval section,Merlinwood, but much of that area was rethemed for the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Today the area contains two live-action shows. This land is also home to Mythos, winner of best theme park restaurant several times by Theme Park Insider, and one of two full-service restaurants in the park.

[edit]Rides and attractions

  • The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad, a live-action stunt show located in the ancient Arabia section.
  • Poseidon's Fury, an indoor special-effects show located in the mythological Greece section.
  • The Mystic Fountain, a fountain (located in the front of The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad show) that entertains and interacts with guests.
What do you think? Is this a total copy of Beastly Kingdom, or just a coincidence?
Eleven Years Later::: If the Movie The Bear and the Bow does well, there is a huge chance for the Beastly Kingdom!!!

Beastly Kingdom in Animal Kingdoms Furture

Will the Imagineers finally have their dream of bringing Beastly Kingdom off the drawing board? Well, the latest Beastly Kingdom update says if The Bear and the Bow, the Pixar movie coming in December of 2011, does well in the box office the Beastly Kingdom may finally be added to Disney's Animal Kingdom park.
The Bear and the Bow is about a headstrong princess who must use magic and nature to brake a curse. Reese Witherspoon will use her voice talent in this movie. Crossing our fingers!

Hidden Mickeys

Whenever you visit a Disney park the search is on.... for hidden Mickeys! Our old pal Mickey is everywhere in Disney World, Disneyland, Euro Disney..... bottom line, he's EVERYWHERE. Great hidden Mickey Book is out there, I have it, the name's not coming to me right now...eh.
Anyways, here's a few:

Disneyland, Anaheim VS Walt Disney World

Which park is better, Disneyland (Anaheim) or Walt Disney World? Well, somethings to think about....
*WDW has Four parks, DL (Disneyland) has two.
*The Pirates of the Caribbean ride is about twice as long in DL and has a much bigger drop (it actually has two!)
*Disneyland has a Alice in Wonderland ride.
* You can fit four DLs in the parking lot of the Magic Kingdom and still have enough room to park more than 300 cars! WDW a giant compared to DL!
Just a few things, whats your opinion. Leave it in the comments. Thanks for reading and have a disney day! (can you say cheesey?)
